The US Supreme Court has rejected the claims of the State of Texas against the construction of an interim storage facility.
In the US, spent fuel is ranked according to the concentration of radioactive material, and the method of disposal is decided. Those with relatively low concentrations are placed in drums and disposed of underground. The State of Texas opposed the construction of this facility, but its opposition was not approved.
The disposal of used waste is a problem all over the world, but currently most of it is buried underground. As is the case in Japan, there are limited places to bury it. Also, it cannot be buried anywhere, and there are likely to be many objections from local residents and faults.
I believe that this problem, which is one of the disadvantages of electronic power generation, needs to be considered in Japan and other countries.

It is essential to consider the opinions of both the approval and opposition groups when making decisions about problem of the nuclear plant.
返信削除The issue of nuclear power plants is a difficult one, as opinions are clearly divided between the government and residents.
返信削除Even though the radiation levels are low, it doesn't mean there's no soil pollution. I think this downside is having a big impact on whether people are for or against it.
